Registration is now open for the upcoming conference on civic literacy hosted by ESE and the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the U.S. Senate. The conference titled, "Serving America: Promising Practices for Building Literacy and Civic Learning" will provide educators an opportunity to learn the role civic learning plays in maintaining our democracy, increase civic knowledge and engagement for students grades K-12 and make natural connections between this discipline and literacy. Presenters will include K-12 educators and representatives from state, education and community organizations. This free event, held on May 23rd, will run from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Edward Kennedy Institute (210 Morrissey Blvd., Boston).
